From
Reading Room/8:
First Night in London: Age 22
Donald Maggin
Back
to the issue 8 page
Humphrey Littleton
blew Panama
over the wooly sweat
and Turkish smokes
of the dancers,
as happy trance energy
fed the knife of time
at 100 Oxford Street.
Every moment
a new tomorrow,
then and now.
Hordes of tomorrows
behind me,
a million behind me.
When Bird blew
his blues,
Now’s the Time,
he knew that
now contains
all time.
